Software Test Engineer

Your mission

You will contribute to the Business Application Management Department by providing Software Quality Testing. As a Quality Test Engineer, you are responsible for the end delivery of a fully functional software system passing all quality tests. You need to ensure that a good quality solution is delivered to our end customers. This requires not only excellent technical skills but also the ability to understand and map a real-world business problem into a working application. You will be involved in the whole software development cycle, starting from sketching class diagrams during whiteboard sessions.

Your profile

• Analyze the user requirements and prepare functional/technical design based on the same. 
• Interview sessions with the key users. 
• Identify test requirements based upon functional & design specifications, map test case requirements and design test plan.
• Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured manual test cases.
• Prepare Test data and manage Test environment(s).
• Execute test cases and analyze and report test results in the system.
• Explain issues to the team and verify once the issues are resolved.
• Escalate potential quality issues immediately to team.
• Perform integration and regression testing.
• Conduct demos and User Acceptance Test (UAT) with the key users.
• Identify any potential performance problems that users might encounter.
• Prepare release notes and update/maintain work instructions. 
• Preparing Lesson Learnt documents from the completed projects’ experience.

Competence requirements:  

• B.E / B.Tech (IT/CE) or MCA with sound interest in business processes and quality assurance. 
• Between 2 to 4 years of professional software testing experience having good knowledge in manual testing, automation testing, web-windows-mobile testing and other QA tools. 
• Good knowledge of SDLC & STLC processes.
• Understanding and/or working experience of data modeling tools.
• Should be aware of various levels of testing (Component, Integration, Regression, System, UI testing, UAT, Performance, Load testing etc.) 
• Exposure in testing across the application layers (UI/Service/Data layers/Mobile).
• Strong communication (written & oral) skills and ability to produce clear, concise and detailed documentation. Must be able to clearly describe and discuss problems.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience of SQL/PL-SQL, writing basic SQL queries, validating data in the tables. 
• Creative thinking, positive attitude, strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as a part of both large and small team.
