Faces of TLF - Avani

Meet Avani, a Senior .Net Developer from our Indian office!

Introduce yourself: who are you and what do you do within TLF?
Hi, I am Avani Prajapati and I’ve been a Senior .Net Developer with TLF for the past 10 years, working out of our Indian office in Ahmedabad.

What do you like about your particular role?
In the past 10 years, my role has helped me to grow, explore, and polish my skills in ASP .Net. I have also thoroughly enjoyed working with our international customers through our various projects.

My colleagues at TLF make work genuinely enjoyable. Over the past 10 years, I’ve not only developed great working relationships with them, but also a wonderful personal bond with many. It makes work fun!

What’s your favorite part about working for TLF overall, please explain.
My favorite part about working for TLF is the balance between work life and personal life.

My husband and I have two daughters, and when he had to be away for an extended period of time for work, TLF gave me the flexibility I needed with my schedule. I was able to convert to part time in order to support my family, without compromising my career path or personal growth. It’s this flexibility and understanding that makes working for TLF truly feel like ‘being a part of the family.’

Who are you outside of TLF? Family/ friends, etc. How would they describe you?
Outside TLF, I am a wife, happily married to Vishal, my husband for 19 years and a mother of two lovely daughters. My older daughter Dhwani (18 years) is an artist, who is especially passionate about sketching and dancing. My younger daughter Darshni (13 yrs) is a pro in badminton and plays at state level. They have seen me working hard, either going into the office or from home, hence they tease me by calling me a ‘Robot’. After office hours, I love to spend time with my family. Family and friends know me as a strong lady.

What do you like to do for fun/hobbies?
I love playing different kinds of games such as carrom, cards, badminton and much more. I especially love doing this with my daughters.

Any fun hidden talent or skillsets?
As I said before, I like playing outdoor sports, which goes back to my childhood when I was a Pro at Kho-Kho. Kho-Kho is a traditional Indian sport played by two teams, with 12 nominated players out of 15, of which 9 enter the field and sit on their knees (Chasing Team) and three extra (Defending Team) who try to avoid being touched by members of the opposing team.

In the India office, I am well-known for the delicious Gajar Halwa I make – this is a carrot-based sweet dessert.

A message to all?
Always believe in yourself and keep smiling.
