Faces of TLF - Ellis

Meet Ellis, Office Manager in our Dutch office.

Introduce yourself: Who are you and what do you do within TLF?
My name is Ellis, and I am the office manager in the Dutch office. My work is very diverse so no two days are alike. My tasks can range from facility duties (maintenance in the office, buying groceries, coffee, contact with cleaning/supplying companies), to travel bookings (flights, hotels, transfers, and more). I play the lead role of the Social Committee, which means organizing all kinds of events during the year, and I take care of all the other requests that come my way. When needed, I support members of the board, too. I joined TLF in November 2023, but I was already very familiar with the company since I worked at Quintiq – about 20 years ago! When I started last year, it felt like “coming home!”

What do you like about your particular role?
I love the social aspect of my job; that means talking with my colleagues, establishing good relationships with them and our external parties, and being the ‘go to’ person for everyone. Also, I like the mixture of my tasks. Every day is different so it’s never a dull moment!

What’s your favorite part about working for TLF overall, please explain.
I like the fact that TLF consists of a diverse group of people and cultures, but the common thread is that we all have the same drive and positive attitude, and – more importantly – a good sense of humor! Also, I feel no hierarchy at all, everyone has his/her/their role and is respected for it.

Who are you outside of TLF? Family/ friends, etc. How would they describe you?
When I am not working, you can usually find me at home – which happens to be quite close to the office. I live there with my husband and our dog, Coco. My family and friends would describe me as loyal, caring, and always looking for the fun side of life!

What do you like to do for fun/hobbies?
Walking with our labrador, Coco, is always great. Especially on the beach! I keep fit by swimming regularly and heading to the gym for group lessons, at least once a week. On the flip side, I like to watch a good crime series. I guess I like the puzzle of trying to solve who did it before the end! And I love to travel, whether that’s for city trips or to places where the sun is always shining and with a beach nearby!

Any fun hidden talent or skillsets?
I am very interested in interior design. As a result, I can change a room in a day… paint the walls, or put up new wallpaper, or rearrange the furniture. Not always to my husband’s approval!

Enjoy the small things in life, have a laugh every day, take good care of each other, and count your blessings… It works for me!
