Faces of TLF - Luke

Meet Luke, one of our Junior Business Consultants working out of our United Kingdom office.

Introduce yourself: who are you and what do you do within TLF?
Hi, I’m Luke, I’m a junior business consultant based in the UK office of TLF. I joined 8 months ago coming from the Aerospace and Defence world to take on a new challenge. Being a business consultant means I am a customer facing puzzle solver working in a variety of industries and always learning something new!

What do you like about your particular role?
Last year, I described what my dream job would be to my family – a problem solver in an IT company working with different industries to help them save money. Low and behold six months later I started living the dream.

I get to work with experts who are knowledgeable in their respective fields where I can hone my skills in a variety of different industries; whether it be food manufacturing or aluminium production.

What’s your favorite part about working for TLF overall, please explain.
Well it’s obvious really? The culture and people within TLF absolutely make it. I know it is really cliché to say that, but it is absolutely true! Despite being spread over 4 locations around the world, I feel an integral part of the company. Even with the early morning WhatsApps from different time zones!

Who are you outside of TLF? Family/ friends, etc. How would they describe you?
How would my friends and family describe me…….well I asked my girlfriend Katie and this is what she said.

“Luke always puts others before himself whether that’s family or friends and strives to make people happy. He is determined to succeed at any goal he sets himself and won’t let anything get in his way.
Whilst he may drive me crazy with his practical jokes he doesn’t half make me laugh.”

What do you like to do for fun/hobbies?
I like to think I’m really active, but a lot of my friends would disagree, perhaps that’s why I went into coaching. I coach a local school Ultimate Frisbee every week, who are now enjoying being sponsored by TLF!

I also cycle with a local club, play 5-a-side twice a week, and somewhere in between all of that I manage to watch our favourite TV shows with Katie.

I’m also a really big fan of travelling and exploring other cultures around the world, but I still have plenty of countries to tick off!

Any fun hidden talent or skillsets?
I really like singing, in fact, if you catch me on a good day I can sing in tune with the Bee-Gees. I’ve also been told I’m a natural chef…….so if you ask me I may bring some of my dishes to work!
